The Faculty of Technology offers study opportunities both for degree students and exchange students.
Every year hundreds of foreign exchange students come to Oulu – if you want to be one of them, visit the pages of International Centre of the University of Oulu.
The Faculty confers a lower university degree – Bachelor of Science (Technology), higher university degrees – Master of Science (Technology or Architecture) and postgradual degrees – Licentiate of Science (Technology), Doctor of Science (Technology) and Doctor of Philosophy.
Please note that Bachelorīs degree is only available in Finnish.
The Faculty offers Masterīs programmes in English in Barents Environmental Engineering, in Wireless Communication Engineering and in Architectural Design.
Masterīs degree programme consists of a total of 120 ECTS credits and it takes two years of full time study.
Please note, that in general (with certain exceptions) international masterīs programme students who are not citizens of EU/EEA member states are liable to pay tuition fee: Tuition Fees at the University of Oulu 2012-2013

In addition to the general admission requirements, applicants for the Faculty of Technology have to meet the following admission requirements:

Students who are on their last term/semester of Bachelorīs studies can apply to study for a Masterīs degree. Those who wish to apply during their last semester have to submit their institutionīs statement concerning studentīs expected date of graduation. Applicants with excellent academic records can be offered a conditional study placement. The conditionally accepted applicant has to submit his/her Bachelorīs degree documentation before receiving the final study placement offer.
How to apply?
Application period in all masterīs programmes of the Faculty of Technology for the academic year 2012-2013 starts on November 21st, 2011 and ends on January 31st, 2012 at 16.15 (GMT +2). Both online applications and printed applications with all application documents have to reach University Admissions Finland by the deadline. More information about the application process

Applicant can apply to up to three (3) Masterīs programmes in the University of Oulu.
Postgraduate applicants holding a Master’s Degree, or equivalent, may apply for postgraduate (PhD) studies.
University of Oulu Graduate School, UniOGS, provides the framework for doctoral education for all students of the University of Oulu. New doctoral students apply to University of Oulu Graduate School from 1.8.2011.
